Board Liaison Reports:

The board shared a communication from Dr. Crosson, chair of Highland Park’s Board of Health, confirming the BOH’s advice from their 2018 resolution recommending later start times for adolescents remains the same. Dr. Crosson also confirmed the BOH discussed the biological changes associated with adolescent sleep patterns and the potential impacts of earlier start times on younger children prior to making their recommendation.

The board shared that the Highland Park Education Foundation (HPEF) is seeking new members to join in helping the HPEF achieve its goal of funding teacher-initiated grants for HP schools. There will be an interest meeting April 10th at 7:30 PM in the middle school cafeteria. Find out more about the HPEF at https://hpefnj.org/.
