Superintendent’s Report: Our students have significantly enhanced their global awareness and citizenship skills following their enriching Model United Nations trip to Mexico City. Immersed in the vibrant culture and diverse perspectives, they gained invaluable insights into international affairs, fostering a deeper understanding of global issues and cultivating the essential skills necessary to become informed and empathetic global citizens.

Curriculum & Instruction: There are several field trips up for board approval: the middle school Cheer team will perform at a Bartle pep rally, Irving kindergarteners and first graders will enjoy a picnic at the HS/MS track and first graders will visit Bartle to be introduced to their future school. Another item up for approval is expansion of the peer mediation program to the middle school. This conflict resolution program has been very successful in the high school and involves two trained student mediators facilitating communication between two peers in order to reach a mutually acceptable agreement.

Finance & Facilities: The board discussed the purchase of a new mail stamp machine for the Business Office/District, as well as contracts for professional development for Inspired Instruction and GoGuardian.

Personnel & Communication: There are several personnel agenda items that were discussed including the resignation of the Middle School Mandarin teacher and Human Resources/Payroll Administrative Assistant, extensions for leaves of absences, and approval of staff for other miscellaneous positions.
