Superintendent’s Report: Dr. Susca shared a presentation with data from the Genesis questionnaire for feedback on the adjustments to school start and end times. Click here to view the presentation. Please note that there will be no adjustments to the times for next year and the district will continue to monitor the implementation of this initiative. Additionally, Dr. Susca and Ms. DeRosa presented the final budget, which was approved during the meeting. Curriculum & Instruction: The board approved several field trips, new position descriptions, the expansion of peer mediation to the Middle School, and a preliminary Law Enforcement Resolution for emergencies that will be further refined through the collaboration of several board committees and the Safety Team. The board also approved the participation of 20 fourth grade students from Bartle in Anderson Cooper’s 360 Project on CNN. Students will be interviewed about the upcoming Presidential election in May pending parent permission.  

Personnel & Communication: The board would like to welcome the following new staff members to the district.

  • Dana Kessel, Supervisor of Funded Programs, District Initiatives & Human Resources starting in the position effective May 13, 2024

  • Tyler Giesler, Teacher of Physical Education for the High School starting September 1, 2024

  • Susan Shaughnessy, Human Resources, Health Benefits/Payroll Support Specialist starting on May 20, 2024

Finance &  Facilities: The board approved presenters for Health & Wellness Month and Diversity Day activities, as well as additional outside agencies to provide speech services to students, as needed. The Food Service Management contract was awarded to Pomptonian Food Service, following the RFP process.
