Highland Park Middle School held its first-ever National Junior Honor Society induction
ceremony on Thursday, February 13 in the Highland Park High School auditorium. Thirty-one
students were inducted into the school’s chapter, recognized for their outstanding achievements
in scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship.
The ceremony was filled with pride and celebration as students and families gathered to
recognize the inductees’ exceptional accomplishments. The ceremony included members of
the Highland Park High School National Honor Society reading brief descriptions for each of the
five pillars of NJHS – Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship.
Before receiving their certificates, each new inductee shared a personal reflection on the
individual pillar that resonated with them, further demonstrating their connection to the core
principles of the organization.
The ceremony concluded with the inductees taking the NJHS pledge, led by Superintendent of
Schools, Dr. Kristina Susca, solidifying their commitment to the organization's ideals.
As members of NJHS, these students will now engage in a number of individual and chapter
service projects.
