AP Honor Roll

With the guidance and assistance of 12 members of our faculty assigned to teach the 17 AP courses we offer at Highland Park High School and our AP Coordinator who helps register students for AP exams, our Class of 2024 student body's efforts enabled our school to achieve the AP Honor Roll at the Silver level!  We have not achieved the AP Honor Roll since 2017.  This year, because 57% of the Class of 2024 have taken at least one AP course during their high school career, 45% of the Class of 2024 earned a 3 or higher on one AP Exam, and 14% of the Class of 2024 have taken 5 AP courses since their 9th or 10th grade years, we were able to accomplish this amazing achievement! Kudos to our Faculty and student body and particularly, the Class of 2024's academic efforts!  Although we were not able to offer AP Computer Science or AP Music Theory this school year, we look forward to continually expanding our Advanced Placement course offerings and encouraging our students to take on the AP challenge!  The value of AP curriculum offerings and the advantage and cost savings the exams can have on college readiness and affordability make these courses well worth the effort required.  If you are not aware, many colleges award college credit for AP exam scores of a 3 or higher on a 5 point scale.  Our AP Teachers include:

  •  Dr. Ignacio Esteban - AP Spanish Language and Culture
  • Mr. Craig Girvan - AP US Government & Politics
  • Mr. Adam Gold - AP US History
  • Mr. Todd Kruger & Ms. Ami Dobelle - AP Biology
