Anthropology presentation to HPHS students

Last Thursday, January 18, 2024, our biology students were visited by Andrew Schwartz, a Ph.D. candidate in biological anthropology at Rutgers University.  He studies biological anthropology with a focus on early primate and hominin paleoecology.  Students were introduced to anthropology to encourage awareness and interest in the field.  They discussed how and why we study human culture, biology, language, and evolution in order to better connect with other people as well as their own humanity. The skulls and artifacts were very interesting and students' feedback was that they enjoyed the presentation.  Thanks to Ms. Ami Dobelle, our biology and environmental science teacher, for arranging for this presentation!
